The Islamic world under Muhammad is marked in red |
1. Muhammad was a great ruler. He conquered many lands, and he had many followers, but he didn’t rule the whole world. Jesus is a great ruler as well, but He is the ruler of the whole world. He will reign forever, and Muhammad’s reign was temporary. Of course greatness is not measured by how much land that you have, but I am convinced that Jesus is the greater than Muhammad.Jesus also didn’t gain this land by killing people for it. He is the Creator of this land that He owns; whereas Muhammad gained His land by slaying people and he did not create the land that he ruled.
2. Muhammad taught people to fight, but Jesus taught peace. We have evidence today from the things that have been going on, that the Muslim religion is all about war. There is also great animosity between the Christians and Muslims today, which I will talk about later.
3. Muhammad taught vengeance on anyone who offended you, but Jesus taught to “...turn the other cheek…” Again this goes back to peace, we are not to retaliate when we are struck down, but in the Muslim religion Muhammad gave full right for the people to retaliate. Peace is one of the things that sets Christians apart from others.
4. It is a blasphemy to call Allah your father, but Jesus loves it when we cry out to Him calling Him “Father.” I wouldn’t want a god who refused to let me call him “Father.” I love being able to call Jesus my Father.
5. Muhammad taught that women are nothing, that they are not equal with men, but Jesus elevated the value of women. Many of his followers were women, and He never turned any of them away; in fact, He encouraged their discipleship. You see that when the Pharisees bring the adulterous woman to Jesus, and He forgives her of her sins.In Muhammad's eyes women were just slaves, and he encouraged his men to rape the slave women. Is that the way that what Jesus commanded his disciples to do. In fact, according to the law of Moses, if you act immorally with a woman, you are worthy of death.
6. Muhammad ordered that those who did not follow Allah be killed, but Jesus had compassion and forgave those who did not follow them. On the cross He said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34) He loved them just as much as he loved those who were His. The Muslims have long been persecuting Christians because of what they believe. They have killed and tortured them for centuries. The Christians have not persecuted the Muslims for not believing in what they believe, but they have loved them and brought the Gospel to them. Jesus would have never killed the Muslims, but he would have rebuked them for leading the people astray.
7. Those who follow Allah cannot have a personal relationship with him. He is separated from them. He is uninvolved with their lives, but Jesus loves to talk with us. In fact the Bible commands us to pray, it is part of the Christian life. If you claim to be a believer, but don’t have a right relationship with the Father, then that could be a sign that you are not walking with the Lord. I hope that this clearly points out the difference between the two religions.
8. Muhammad had slaves, and he ordered the slaves to do the work, which was culture in that day, He had a slave build the pulpit where he preached. Jesus came as a servant. He came to serve and not to be served. He was willing to do the dirtiest job: washing His disciples feet. Of course Jesus was served by servants when He entered people's houses, but He, being the King of Kings wanted to show His disciples what true servant hood and so He washed their feet. Do you think that Muhammad would have done the same thing to his disciples? Do you think that he would have served the them in such a way? No.
9. Now I want to bring you to my last and Final point. Jesus died for us to save us from our sins, but Muhammad would not have died for his people. Allah would not have died for his people. Allah is so much higher in rank than the people that served him, but Jesus came down to earth, associated Himself with the lowliest of the lowliest, healed them, and died the most horrific death for them. What an amazing God we serve!
As I conclude, I want you to see God in a different light. As a God that far surpasses the gods of the other religions in the world. I hope that you see Him as a God who wants to know you, who loves to to reach His hand out to you when you need His help, and as a God who took all the ridicule, and took all your sins that you have ever committed and died for you. I think we take advantage of Christianity these days. We take it so lightly, that we don’t even think about the fact that people were tortured and died for their faith, so let us be thankful that we are not enslaved like so many of these Muslims are today.
