Six Questions Answered About The Renaissance

I'm very sorry, I know I haven't written a blog post for ages. I apologize and promise I will try to do better then the past job I've done.
B.T.W. All six questions are underlined.
Ok, all that to say, lets get started with question #1.
I'm pretty sure that most if not all of you have heard of the Renaissance at one time in you life or another. But do you really know what it was about? Let's dive deeper in.
What time period was the Renaissance?
The Renaissance was a period of time about 300 years between
the Middle Ages and Modern Times. It started in Italy in
about 1300.
It spread all throughout Europe in the 1400’s and 1500’s.
What three things fueled the Renaissance?

When the Renaissance started, Europe was divided into great feudal estates owned by the rich. Most people were serfs who farmed the land for them. But when the Renaissance
spread, kings took over the feudal lands and built national governments.
Almost every part of life was centered around religion, and the Catholic
Church was the most powerful force in Europe.
The Protestant Reformation weakened the Catholic Church considerably.
On May 29, 1453, the Ottoman Empire attacked and captured the city Constantinople.
This led to the migration of Greek scholars and texts to Italy, which helped
fuel the Renaissance.

How did the Renaissance help start the  Reformation?
The Renaissance was a contributing factor in starting the Reformation. At the time
of the Renaissance, there was religious turmoil with accusations of corruptions
against the Roman Catholic Church, the most powerful institution in Europe.
Churchmen, like Martin Luther and Erasmus, proposed reform to
the Church, often based on humanist textual criticism of the New Testament. Thus,
The Renaissance’s Humanism helped spark the Protestant Reformation,
which resulted in many people moving away from the Catholic Church and
creating Protestant churches.

How did the Renaissance spread?
One of the most important inventions during this time, was the printing press.
It was made by Johannes Gutenberg. It actually marks the start of this time period,
because although the idea had been started in Italy in a city, it hadn’t spread anywhere.
That was a problem for those who wanted it to spread far. When the
Renaissance started, the press was invented soon after, and ideas could
spread all throughout Europe.

What exactly was the Renaissance?
The Renaissance was a time when art and humanism thrived. In fact, that is
what it was all about. The artists Michelangelo and Leonardo De Vinci were great artists.
They painted many great works of art during this time. Also another artist, all though not in
paintings, is William Shakespeare. He wrote many stories and some people thought that his
works were inspired.
The Renaissance was an age also of exploration, imagination, and curiosity, Many people were exploring during these times: Christopher Columbus,  Amerigo Vespucci, Juan Ponce de Leon, Marco Polo, Hernando De Soto and Vasco Núñez de Balboa.

What Changes did the Renaissance make?
Since the Renaissance started in Italy, Italy was the center of world culture.
Genoa, Milan, Venice, Rome, Verona and Florence were economic,
trade and financial leaders for Europe. There were changes in thinking
and ideas. New ideas in art, science, astronomy, religion, literature,
mathematics, philosophy, and politics were developed and advanced.
One of the main things that began to decline was the Catholic
Church. Due to the Reformation, the Church had started to decline and
didn’t have very much power any more.

Thus, the Renaissance affected most of Europe, and in many different ways. It brought on a
new era. It also was a time, although mainly godless, when God shone revealed Himself
through the lives of people like Martin Luther, Johannes Hus, John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli,
John Knox, William Tyndale and many others who risked their lives for the Word of God.
